Custom and Spec Homes Springing Up in Upstate’s Newest Community
GREENVILLE, SC – (January 8, 2007)
Caleb Freeman, President of Acadia Development Company, LLC, announced that the Acadia community is celebrating its New Year with new homes, including his own. The Acadia Builders Guild, an exclusive group of custom homebuilders in Greenville, have begun construction on custom and spec homes of various styles in what are called Cottage, Manor and Estate sizes and price ranges. Acadia expects over 40 new homes to be available this year, many early this summer. Freeman added, “Acadia has already prepared the soccer field and trails for use by Acadia’s first residents, known as “Founders”. Acadia plans to open this year its community swim team Jr. Olympic pool and athletic Poolhouse, Playground and Tennis facility, the Village Pavilion, the Saluda RiverHouse and other amenities”.
Teryn Traynham of CB Caine, sales manager for Acadia, announced the first closing of a builder’s spec home in Acadia to a custom client, a family recently relocated to Greenville from Texas. “Greenville’s job market and four-seasons lifestyle attracts people from out of state”, she said, “and Acadia’s sense of community, focus on the river and surrounding natural beauty, combined with many great amenities, are very appealing to empty nesters as well as to young families. Acadia has caught the eye of Upstate residents, as well, now that everyone has discovered Acadia is only ten minutes from downtown Greenville. We have many new residents want to find a better balance in life, and are moving to Acadia to get away from the sprawl and congestion in other parts of town. Acadia Founders realize that their time, like money, is a valuable commodity”.
“Teryn does a wonderful job educating prospects and buyer’s agents on the unique special features of the Acadia community”, Freeman said. “She and Acadia Site Manager, Scott Cleveland love giving folks the tour of Acadia, showing off the Village Center as well as the riverfront”. Traynham also helps homeowners coordinate their planning with their Acadia Guild Builder, “which makes for a better experience for all”, added Freeman. “Teryn’s knowledge of Greenville’s real estate market, combined with her experience in new home construction, underscores her commitment to serve home buyers and builders. This exactly reflects Acadia’s values, including genuine southern hospitality and personal dedication to matching the home buyer’s expectations for a better, more balanced quality of life”.
Acadia will establish five neighborhoods in phases on over 300 acres of beautiful land near downtown Greenville, SC. When built out, the Acadia community will include up to 700 single-family cottage, manor & secluded estate homes with condominiums & townhomes, gatehouses & bungalows, and more. Architectural styles will range from Arts & Crafts, Adirondack, English & French country manors, Old World estate homes, to Charleston, Savannah and other custom and traditional low country styles. Acadia’s distinction lies in its focus on pedestrian trails and neighborhood amenities such as retail shops, offices, galleries, the community Pavilion & RiverHouse, non-denominational chapel, soccer field, tennis, pools, canoeing, kayaking and biking, all incorporated into 100 acres of natural greenspace along two miles of wilderness river frontage. The Acadia development and each of its neighborhoods are designed to assure an attractive, safe environment that offers a true sense of southern living. Acadia welcomes people to come visit, play, work & stay.
“Not only is Acadia settled on beautiful land, with river, creeks, duck ponds and hardwoods, it’s amazingly close, only 6 traffic lights, to downtown Greenville. said Traynham. “Acadia connects town and country with a quick and easy commute”. Acadia is located at Exit 12 (Highway 153) off the Southern Connector (I-185), and one mile off I-85, five minutes drive from the Greenville Hospital and less than ten minutes from downtown.
